Our Indiana Chapter Membership is administered through the National Palatines to America Membership system.
We'd like to think you would pick the Indiana chapter, but you can pick one or more of the other state chapters as well.
Here are a few benefits you will receive as a member of PalAm and the Indiana Chapter
Publications
You will receive quarterly issues of the society's journal, The Palatine Immigrant, as well as access to quarterly issues of the national newsletter, Palatine Patter.
In addition, you will receive a quarterly newsletter from the Indiana Chapter if you choose Indiana for a chapter membership. You can also access back issues of the newsletter and other documents in the Members Only section.
German Life Magazine
Members of Palatines to America can get a reduced subscription rate to German Live Magazine. This publication has interesting articles about travel, culture, history, food, language, and genealogy related to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and German-America.
Surname Research
As a member of the Indiana Chapter of PalAm, you have the option to add to our member surnames list. This offers you an opportunity to share family information with others who are researching the same surnames.
You may add surnames you are researching and include the county, state/province/region and country of the ancestors you are interested in. You can also indicate a beginning year and ending year range for your ancestors.
Visitors to the Surname Research List will be able to click on a link to send you an email through a contact form. Your email address will not be visible to the sender. You can then reply to the researcher if you wish.
Membership Options
We have two types of memberships: Individual and Family. "Family" is restricted to two members living in the same household. One family member is defined as the Family Coordinator, and the other is a Family Member. Institutions and organizations are included within Individual memberships.
Dues include postage for mailing The Palatine Immigrant journal and are determined by your location using three regions:
- United States
- Canada-Mexico
- Other Countries
Each membership category includes membership in one state chapter: CO IN NC NY OH PA. You may purchase additional chapter memberships, and you may add an option to receive mailings of the printed Palatine Patter newsletter for $10.00.

- Additional chapters: $8.00 each
Canada/Mexico Residents
